Help with indenity of material

I know one of you smart fellows know exactly what this material is. It is used on a chemical etching system.. The positive lead is connected to the material with a stainless bolt. The chemical and wick on the other side. Basically it's used as the electrical conductor. It looks like some kind of conductive carbon material [
ATTACH=CONFIG]21410[/ATTACH].

It looks like it's a carbon ceramic material; it's relatively inert and is often used for electrodes.

It machines easily.
