Help Indexing Flutted Barrel

I can't say that it absolutely needed but why not? The barrel has to be rotated for each flute anyway so why not cover your butt so to speak. Rule #1 around here is don't do anything to make the phone ring. So far I've been pretty successful at that.

Dave I also do a lot of things on the "why not" idea. I just had not heard this mentioned before or read anything about it. I have fluted a few barrels and have not had any problems or saw any adverse affects and as you have figured out I just did one flute right after the other.

Guess what, if any one asks my new sequence is as follows: The sequence for 6 flutes is,0,180,60,240,120,300 degrees

After all why not. Thanks for the info. I love this thing I learn something new all the time. I don't say a whole lot, but believe me I am listening close, especially to those whose name appears at the the top of the match results in the gunsmith column often.
