About thirty years ago a lot of people thought the mercury in tooth fillings would poison them and dentists sent their kids to college by replacing amalgam fillings with alternative fillings. Sort of like folks believing that vaccines cause autism in kids. Both fears proved untrue. Dentists confirm that millions of people have had amalgam fillings for many decades with no signs of mercury poisoning. Seems that the mercury is chemically bound and released very slowly. Sorta like hydrogen not releasing from water (but a little different).
Regarding hydrogen peroxide, taxidermists used to use it to bleach skulls. It works real good but starts fires occasionally. Seriously.
Had a friend that died a slow death from mercury poison from amalgam teeth fillings.
