Going rate for Suhl 150-1

Yea, 800 was the top end on what I was thinking. That's less than the Suhl owner want's. As you say it's about performance with the Suhl and that's not known at this time. I do know the 52C is a shooter as well as a nice looking clasic 22. The one for 700 is supposed to be a good shooter and I may be better off waiting until the 52 sells for cash and then if I still have an interest in a Suhl buy one for same. Donald

suhl's are like every factory rifle. your running the chance of getting a dud. can you shoot the suhl he has?

i'd say us rookies who purchased a suhl as a starter rifle aren't as far off as one on here thinks. are they custom rifles? nope. do they shoot? if you get one in great shape yes they do. mine outshot my messer built hall actioned rifle with a lilja 6 groove barrel and fudd tuner on it. i shot that messer rifle last year cause i paid $2375 for it. i knew the suhl outshot it hands down using a fudd topped rest and bunny ear rear bag, but i had gave so much for the messer rifle i was going to shoot it come hell or high water!!! tomc asked me what i was going to do if the suhl outshot my custom rifle i had purchased. i told him i was going to shoot the custom no matter what. he was spot on the money.

i'm not trying to say suhl's are the best rifle in the world. there are a great many custom rifles that will wax a suhl. if you get one that is right you have a suhl that will wax a great many custom rifles when it is tuned.

i might shoot my suhl next year and save the custom rifle i'm having built as my back up. testing when the custom returns from the smith will tell the story of what i use next year.

here is 50 yard practice targets i shot with the suhl outside in the wind when it was in the factory stock that i had it glass and piller bedded in.

like somebody else said this is what beginners buy and find out they just don't shoot. i should damned well have my ass kicked up between my shoulders for changing from the factory stock to the stock i have now. i'm putting a don stith stock on it in hopes that it likes the pappas one piece rest this year.

don't buy a suhl. they just aren't a competion rifle are they?

tell you what. if my custom i'm having biult this year doesn't do this well you can bet you ass i'll be shooting the factory barreled suhl in the stith stock next year. wonder how many customs this rifle would put to same?

If those are 50 yard groups in the wind, I would say it shoots. I've seen your ARA scores (at least the ones posted here) and they don't back that up. What happened?

Mr. N I'm not going to beable to shoot the rifle if I make the deal. It's in another state and all I know is what I'm told. I believe the owner when he says it's like new so that's about it. The one for 700 is a known shooter and has competed so I'm leaning toward just holding on to the 52C until I can find a buyer with cash money. Donald

i was shooting a hall actioned messer smithed rifle last year that i got off of don gill instead of the suhl. i very well should have been shooting the suhl and next year i will not make the same mistake twice. if the hall actioned rifle doesn't shoot better than the suhl i will be shooting the suhl next year.

i believe the biggest mistake i have ever made with a rifle was when i removed the factory stock off this suhl and replaced it with a benchrest stock. it wouldn't fit my pappas rest and free recoil. there is a issue with the forend of the stock. i'm going to put a don stith stock on it this winter. i'm hoping this will put it back to shooting in the one piece rest instead of the other rest i have to use with it now.

i shot this suhl for about 2 years before i got the hall actioned rifle. i knew the suhl out shot the custom, but shot the custom last year because i had so much money wrapped up in it. old fasshioned stupidity is all i can say. i'm having each rifle restocked and the hall action rebarreled.

next year i'll be shooting the best of the 2 rifles. it could very well be the suhl. i know it shoots and it has proven it when i was practicing last summer. heck my cousin shot it in his first match last summer and was out scoring me with it by the end of the match with it.

150-1s for Sale at Allan's Armory

Allan Shiesel has a small pile of them, all minus rear sights, going for under $500 each. Will these accept standard Anschütz rear sights?

Too Late!

FYI, it looks they're all gone! :(

It seems I'm always a day late and several dollars short!

Edited: Sorry for the dupe information. The previous poster beat me to the punch.

Well I simply hope what I bought will shoot. Looks like building up a benchrest stock over winter is in order for me.
