Georgia Shaker, PSL, Calfee

You got it wrong. The Tee shirt is $4995. That rifle is either free or priceless, take your pick. I shoot competition skeet so I know the price of Tee shirts and $5k ain't a bad price at all. This rimfire br game is cheap by comparison. bob finger

Love the T- shirt where can I get one with Merlin ( spect 4) on it? :D:D

Bill's shooting habit

I'm here to tell you that Bill will probably go broke shooting his "little 22's." I have never seen anyone get the joy out of shooting that Bill does.

Some years back, I drove up to Borden to pick up my new I/R sporter that Bill had just decided was ready to shoot strong in the matches. It was March and colder than a well digger's naughty bits and Bill was still suffering from the flu. What did we do? Go to the range, of course and the flu bug be damned. IT WAS COLD!!!!! Bill just kept shooting and laughing and yelling about that little sporter stacking shots in a bug. He kept saying, "Let's shoot 5 more" until it was too dark to see the target.

I still have that target and remember we fun we had just about freezing to death. Yes, Virginia, Bill does love and support this sport with all that he has.

Friend Joseph:

There's a lot of things I've seen as someone who has fooled with how these guns are made over the last 34 years, that I don't understand.....(you probably know where I'm going with this I bet).....HOW DOES THAT BARREL STAY IN THAT LITTLE SAKO?

My friends, I built a few sporters on the Sako Finfire action some years ago...enough to find out I didn't know how to make them shoot......I never could keep the barrel in one unless I tightened the twobarrel clamp screws so tight that the bore, in front of the chamber was restricted, then they of course wouldn't shoot......I never tried threading one or gluing the barrel.....

Anyway, I built one for Joseph.....and with no more torque than I would put on the barrel clamp screws, than I would use on a 2007 Anschutz, that barrel ain't never moved......matter of fact I believe either Joseph or Darrell Horsley still hold one of the obsolete sporter world records in IR with it.......

Joseph said he'd not let me take it apart until it quit shooting....which probably means at my age, I'll never know.......but what ever keeps that barrel in that action, with no more torque than there is on those screws, would be valuable knowledge.........

One last thing: I've got the Shaker all boxed up and ready to ship to his new parent.........I went out this morning and laid out some parts and got my thoughts together so as to get started tomorrow on SPEC 10, "THE VIRGINIAN".....I'm going to miss the Shaker......

Happy New Year Joseph and everyone else on Wilbur's forum..

"Big Hog"

My friends:

Just came from the range.............

Friend Dennis: Thank you for the offer...I had already contacted Beau to help with the pictures......man, I wish I could do them myself....I did it one time, by myself.......

My friends, so many questions, why I don't use flags, about the one piece scope attachment.......I'll try to answer all those questions some how...

But, I'm an old guy...I love making these little guns.....I love shooting them even more....

I took my little buddy, my baby, the "Shaker", to the range this evening....my baby is done, I don't need to shoot him any more, but, I love it....shooting these little fellers...

I made up my mind I would not take any red box with me.....I can't affort to drop $60 every evening, shooting red box.......

I looked through my ammo and found a box of black, 2030 at 1035 speed...about two years old.....some killer, old black.....

At the range, I set the Shaker up, set up a PSL card.......

When I first started, I thought this 2030 may not work in the Shaker.....not at this muzzle device setting anyway........(dumb thought on my part)

I kept shooting and after the 12th round, with the 2030's, the Shaker settled...

My dear friends, my dear, wonderful, BRC friends...Man, I cut a "BIG HOG" with them black 2030's, on the PSL target, I mean a "BIG HOG"!

My dear friends, I've got to let the "Shaker" go.....

Thanks again friend Dennis, and thank you Beau for posting the pictures..

Your friend, Bill Calfee

Was this "big hog" at 42 yards?

Friend B Harvey, lets see the target.

Friend B:

When I shot the "big hog" with the Shaker, and those black 2030's, I folded the target up and put it in the garbage bag at the range........

I went to the range this evening and dug the target out, unfolded it, and, took a picture......I asked friend Beau if he could somehow post the picture of the target?

Friend Harvey, my #15 shot was a flipper.....I think it was not the rifle, but, black box ammo......this 2030, black, is killer, but has a flipper now and then...

This is why I've decide to work with the Red box stuff.......is the black box awesome, yes, but, I seriously believe that the big championships from now on, will be won, at least most of the time, with red box.......I wish things were different, as far as ammo, but they ain't....I can't afford the red box either....

BUT, I EXPECT TO KEEP WINNING....so, I may have to shoot less, but with red box......

Your friend, Bill Calfee

Not bad......for a guy who isn't a shooter.

Not bad at all Bill. You need to come compete, I am sure you could get a top smith to build your rifles seeing as how you shoot so good.

You Know Bill I'd done the very same thing had I shot that card. I mean only two shot went where you was aimin'. All though no. 24 came close.
I hope you know I'm spoofin' ya about that! :D
I'm beginning to see how this works. If I want to direct a comment or question to you it needs to be done here. On account no one can post in your General Discussion, 'Can we detect a stopped muzzle' thread. I know I tried twice and no deal.
Now you don't know me from Adam but I did want to comment on your post:

An attempt to post a picture:

I'm trying to learn how to post a picture so I don't have to keep asking other folks to do it for me.....thanks to all that have......if this don't work I still may have to ask for help.....

The picture is nothing, just for a test...( it's an oil paining I did, a self portrait of old BC, as I see myself in my declining years of life)

Here goes?

You see Bill, when it comes to this computer stuff, I'm dumber a fence post with two knots missing but I can post an image. So, one ole cooder to another maybe I can help you in this regard? I'd be willing to do what I can from my end to get you educated.
I also wanted to make the remark, that if 'SPEC 9' (sight unseen) did not have a moustache and/or a ring in her nose I would not be embarrassed to look upon her image. Christ almighty Bill she looks hotter than a $2 hoor on Saturday night! Just curious Bill but did you make 'SPEC 9' for our new President? Now, now calm down, I'm only spoofin' ya again. :D She's a dandy for sure and I know the owner will be proud to show her around the range. Just one ole cooder to another, I guess I'm just not into all that flash!
