Gene Beggs Tuner

No.

It isn't in Gene's post... It's right where he said it was... I one of Wilbur's posts titled "Here's what happened"

Anyway, I see the turned down section of the barrel, I see the 2 weights, and I see a few set screws, What are the red and Blue Lines?

Paul

The holes aren't for set screws. They allow rods to be inserted for greater leverage for tightening (or loosening) the "jam" between the two threaded disks. I imagine that the colored lines are index references by which to judge tuner adjustment.

so...

For the most part, Gene's tuner consists of a threaded sleeve on the barrel and two round nuts that act as adjustable weight to go for and aft on the sleeve? Instead of being hex shaped nuts they are round, and the rod that is inserted for tightening and loosening acts as a spanner wrench would?

Paul, there's no sleeve on the barrel. The barrel is externally threaded for the weights. On a smaller barrel profile, it looks like a sleeve that fits over the barrel that is threaded externally for the adjusting weights would work just fine. ;) The adjusting weights are threaded .900X28. Gene does nice work. :)

'Ya know...I don't like the word 'tuner'. I'm going to start calling them something different. How about:

-The BLOB device (Ballistic Lobbing Of Bullets)

-The GIZMO (Guess It's Zeroed, More Or less)

- The GROSS Device (Get Rid Of Stinking flierS) :D

- The TRW (This Really Works) :)

-The TRS (This Really Sucks)

Smilin' and shiverin' in The Forbidden Zone. :)

Except there is no sleeve. The barrel is threaded.

I have been wondering - -

If the rings could be smaller in OD and wider, making a slimmer profile or the weight needs to be foucsed where it is on the barrel? :)

Pete,

I am with you.

Surely, it does NOT have to look like a dog knot.
