GENE BEGGS, Caught in a lie,,

Yeah, it's sad but true guys. Well,,, actually it wasn't a lie, I was just mistaken. Borrowing from the handbook of our former commander in chief, "It depends on your definition of the word lie."

I have stated several times that the weight of my tuner is 3 ounces; it ain't!

One of my customers, who will remain anonymous, said the tuner I sent to him weighed more than 3 ounces and wanted to know if this would make a difference. I assured him it would not and proceeded to investigate.

The CNC shop that produces my tuner weights does a lot of government defense projects. They have an electronic scale that is calibrated to some extreme degree of accuracy and must be used in a controlled, draft free environment. Every one of the parts we checked weighed 57 grams, right on the money, so the total weight of my tuner is 114 grams or 4.0 ounces.

Sorry about the misinformation, I'll try to be more careful next time.

Sounds to me like you got bit by that "evil" metric conversion. The sooner we declare war on all Countrys that use the Metric System, and bomb them into our way of thinking, the better off we will be.:D
I suppose the only "peeowed" guy out there might be the one whose Rifle came out to 169 ounces, after installing the tuner. You owe him a steak dinner.........jackie

Jackie, I love your sense of humor.

Actually, what happened was, I made the prototypes on my manual lathe and took them next door to the small, neighborhood grocery and asked ol' Jr., to weigh them. He threw them up on his produce scales and said, "Three point something or other ounces." Of course, all I heard was three, blah, blah, ounces. And so it was. From that moment on, I have said my tuners weigh three ounces, but now we know it ain't so.

These seemingly careless little mistakes that I am guilty of could lead one to believe I don't care or do not pay close enough attention to detail. Nothing could be further from the truth. Some years ago, one of my co-pilots summed up my philosophy nicely by saying,

"Captain Beggs, you concern yourself with those things that make a difference and you don't worry at all about those that do not."

Yep, that's right. I rest my case.
