Gas gun for centerfire matches?

With fond memories of the M14/M1A while in the Marine Corps in the early
60's, and 15 years of competitive long-range use using a civilian version, I've
always felt a deep regret for selling it years ago. Remedy - order a new one.
I recognize the value of a bolt rifle for accuracy, however is there a problem (match rules, etc) in using my new super match M1A within the centrerfire benchrest matches?
Thanks for your input!

Barry,
Both the IBS and NBRSA post their rules on line -- they both give descriptions of the guns that can be fired in their competitions.

By the way, to be competitive, at all, in a BR match you need to be able to form 5 shot groups under .25" at 100 yards -- how does your match rifle stack up?

I'm guessing not being able to remove the bolt without taking the gun clear apart might be a problem...

any match I have ever been to would be happy to let you shoot one of them at the match- at least the other competitors would. I'm guessing every safety device there is- trigger locks, chamber flags and all that wouldn't make everybody feel comfortable. that gun may be better suited for highpower competition. you would also need a portable wall to keep the brass off of your neighbors down the line.
