FYI - Bob Vail

Latest status on Bob

Bob is having a tracheotomy this afternoon. His lungs continue NOT to respond to any of the treatments. He is very critical. Ann describes the status as grim.
Pray for a miracle.

Let's not forget!

I can not begin to tell all of you what fine people Bob & Ann are. Their warmth and hospitality has been my good fortune to witness on many occassions.

I did not want them to move so far away and now I am not sure they can hear us pray for Bobs recovery. I do know the one that needs to hear those prayers is always listening, and I hope his plans include letting Bob shoot that new sporter soon.

Be sure to keep saying those prayers; I don't think we need to ask for better scores for Bob and his sporter but as long as it is an extra one for after the recovery I guess it would be alright.

Bob has been a real asset to the BR game out here on the West Coast and I know he can be out there if we keep saying our prayers.

So glad to hear Ann is with the family and thanks for the updates Paul.

Let's not forget!!!!

brief update

Received short message from Ann stating that :"things remain grim...Bob is resting comfortably.......still not responding to any treatment.......doctors plan long course of steroids....hoping that will help."

Keep praying for a miracle.

I've only shot with Bob a couple of times here on the East Coast, but I'm hoping to have many more opportunities to shoot with him. Prayer sent.

another update on Bob

Received the following E-Mail message from Ann this evening:

"Just a short update. Bob's condition remains the same with no response to all the treatments they have tried. Currently he is sedated, comfortable but his situation remains grave..........I wish I had more encouraging news but this is the point at which we find ourselves. He is completely sedated/ on the trach and not responsive. Thanks for your concern - Love Ann"

Bob gone but not forgotten!.

Just received word that Bob passed away last night. Ann and her family would like to thank all of you for your prayers and support during this ordeal.

It still has not really hit me that my friend Bob is gone.

We can all keep Bob's spirit alive by making the wind our friend, helping new shooters, and congratulating all winners with true sincerity.

May each of you have a good and safe shooting season.
Take care,
Paul

Rest in peace, Bob Vail. My family and I will pray for yours.

250 - 25x

It goes without saying that our heartfelt prayers are with Ann and the family today.

This is the second huge loss to Rimfire BR shooting out here in the NW. First when Bob moved back to VA last year, and know that he is up there with the big guy shooting 250's with perfect X counts.

I am having a hard time putting into words the loss I am feeling but I shall always cherish the great times I had with Bob & Ann.

Please stop and give a minute of prayer for Bob, Ann, and his family.

Thank you,

Wes King

I only knew Bob for a short time, but I sure enjoyed the friendship and the discussions he and I had. Bob had a great personality, a great attitude, and a perspective on the game and shooting that I admired. I had looked forward to seeing him again, and talking with him again this year. Bob was a fine shooter, but more so, a true sportsman, and a gentleman, and a friend.
I will miss Bob a lot.

That's terrible news. I only knew Bob for a short time also. He will be missed. My condolences to his wife and family.

Bob's obituary

Karen & I had a lengthy telephone conversation with Bob's wife, Ann, yesterday. She is an awesome lady and Bob would certainly be proud of her strength this this ordeal. We consider our friendship with Bob & Ann as very special.
