fore-end stops

Does the material that a fore-end stop is made from make any difference to how a rifle reacts? Would using a hard stop like nylon or delron act different than something with a little give, like hard rubber?

Soild stop.

I believe a stop with give is not so good... Change in battery each shot, even a little can cause greef.!

Delrin/Nylon is perfect material.

Rest stop.

A hard nylon or metal stop will chip paint from the front end of the rifle if the stock is painted. I covered mine with a piece of soft material. I guess theoretically it could hurt but I haven't noticed. A number of rail guns I have seen, including mine, have hard rubber glued onto the nylon or metal stops and seem to shoot better with them. free recoil; doesn't matter what it's made of, when pinning the gun against the frontstop, i believe it should a hard material.

Stops

I shoot free recoil, but do use a stop. It has a 1/8 thick rubber strip glued across the front. Just enough of a cushion to do what ever I think a cushion does......jackie

mine is from a hard plastic; serves both styles
