For Jackie

If you notice,This article appears on a CNN Politics web site. I suspect that there is more to this story than meets the eye. The Officers actions embarrassed the US Military/Navy. Incompetency in the US Military is not unheard of.

Nothing was mentioned about the Officers Commanding Officer. Strange for an Organization that operates on the Chain Of Command Principle.

I’ve heard it said that,if you lose the War,blame the General.

Just Saying.

I agree with Glenn..... more to the story than what`s told.......many times they send people into places that are unauthorized/denied/ countries we don`t have permission to be in..... like Loas/Cambodia etc.etc...... if you are caught....higher ups deny.... and need a scapegoat...... what a shame.....

According to an article in the Austin American Statesman, the "Officers" Commanding Officer is no longer in command of combat personnel. Shuffled off to less stringent duties. Not good for career path.

And his subordinate got fired? Perfect example of how Schitt runs downhill.

In a bureaucracy the problem can always be traced to the top.
Officer Rasch,in this case, Was just a fall guy. Indeed a shame.

You have to understand how their system works.
In reality both got "fired", neither will ever see a promotion again.
They maybe allowed to stay long enough to get a pension and that is all.

been there done that
( you do not get "fired" in the mil...you get reassigned...to a lower posting..no path for promotion,
letter in your record that is the end of advancement.)
