Firing pin shape

I didn't want to murky the waters in the other thread, but it was brought up that pin shape can have an impact on accuracy.

My question, is there a specific shape that is greater for accuracy overall? I'm working with a R40x 22lr with stock bolt internals.

Hi Adam, there are two basic rim-fire firing pin shapes.
The chisel and the round point.
I would be hard pressed to say that one is better, for accuracy, than the other.
The one most commonly used in rim-fire rifles is the chisel type.
What is important, is good pin drop energy and ammo that has consistent primer distribution.
This is to say good quality ammo.
