I live in Wyoming and I'm interested in getting started in F/TR. How can I find out where the F class matches are being held? I've searched every where without any luck. Thanks

It is pretty late in the year but...

In WY, you could try ...

Info for those looking for F-Class matches...

From time to time, we get contacted by people looking for F-Class matches here in our state. Usually the comment is something along the lines of 'there are NO F-Class matches listed in our state'. Here's a little hint for you...

There are dozens of F-Class matches every year! Probably more than you can find time and money to go to! Some weekends it comes down to where *you* want to go, as there can be multiple matches on a given weekend.

Where are all these matches, that people seem to have trouble finding them?

They are right there in the High Power Rifle schedule.

Remember, F-Class is a sub-class of NRA High Power. Almost any match explicitly marked 'Prone' or 'Palma' in the schedule is open to F-Class as well. Right now, there are plenty of F-Class shooters, but they tend to be kind of scattered out and in order to have a decent sized match... it ends up being a combination of conventional Prone shooters and F-Class shooters...
The comment above isn't unique to our State. Despite the rapid growth of the discipline, worldwide, there are still very few stand-alone F-Class matches (i.e., not held in conjunction with a prone match). In most places, if you're looking for a stand-alone F-Class match, expect to travel, and expect to wait. This is a real shame if matches you may attend are literally just around the corner. Why wait, when you can participate?

Finding F Class matches

Long Range dot com and national match dot com list many of the matches.
some may be listed on the 6mmBR website
You live in a state that it and the neighboring states are half again as big as the whole USA. I know of F-Class matches going on in Montana, Washington State, Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, Wisconsin. There are several members of the US FTR team located in the Mid and North west. You might check the USA FTR Team Web site. Any of the team members can give you information about matches going on in their regions.

Where in Wyoming? We hold 4 or 5 F-Class matches each summer at Alliance Nebraska. They shoot at Byers Colorado also. Both of these locations are not too bad if you are in Cheyenne or Casper. If interested in the Alliance matches you can visit our website at www.alliancerifleclub.com or email me at coford@gmail.com

The matches we have in Alliance are alot of fun. Very laid back. I didn't get to go to any except one due to conflicts. Chris i got my 260 back and just got 7wsm back from the smith. I put a 32" barrel on it. Should be a screamer too. I just got to find a stock for it. Planning to attend more this next year and try to get to byers again.
