As many of you may know, I have been searching for a solvent that will quickly remove lead from my SS rimfire barrels. I believe I have found it. It is a Wipe-Out product called No-Lead.
It's been a while but I noticed it somehow or it was mentioned by someone, anyway, I sent for a bottle to try and it came while I was out West. Finally , this evening I was looking in a newish barrel I picked up this summer and noticed several streaks of lead in and just ahead of the lead of the chamber.
I dipped a quip into the solvent then swabbed it into the breech. I observed the results every 5 minutes or so. I saw the described process happen and can report that the lead turned to gray powder and it simply was swept away by a fresh, dry tip.
The solvent is to be used in conjunction with Wipe-Out to neutralize the product. Hopefully this product will continue to work as advertised.
