Which product would be the best to fill a hole that is 3/4inch round and 1/3inch deep, its in the barrel channel and its going to cover a t-nut.
My stock is a mcmillam edge.
I would like to fill it with some sort of bedding compound.
Which one one should I use?
Thanks
Elmer

I'd use whatever epoxy you have. It's in the barrel channel and will
be covered by the barrel. However, if you want it to blend in, McMillan has patch kits that sell with the color pigments to match molded in color stocks.

I use Devcon 5 minute and then cook the snot out of it with a hot air gun while it's still in the mill. This way I just run my barrel channel over again and its a flush 1:1 fit afterward.

Another option that I do for bigger fills is save the chips from machining an inlet. It makes great fodder to add to Acra Glass liquid when filling a spot or fixing an "oops".

Walnut shavings from a duplicator are also great filler/fodder for resin too.

Only problem is that T nuts are cheap stuff and if you strip or cross thread one it's nice to not have it buried in epoxy so it's easy to change.

Like Mr. Robertson says, why? I say leave it uncovered.

If you are desperate to upgrade appearances & at the same time take Ian Robertson's reservations on board, why not construct some plugs out of high density styrofoam packing material? Saves tossing it in the trash & is reversable without any hassle.
