whats the scoop does anyone know anything about these action? Winter is on it way i want to build a new gun and have to start shopping now.

Greg,
Get a Hall! JMHO. I own a Turbo but am tired of the soft steel it's constructed of.....period! The Hall is a perfectly designed action with hardened firing pin and locking lugs. My choice for an action for you. Who are you planning for building your next project? E-mail or PM and I'll give you a great name.

John M. Carper

Get one of the Falcons, you'll like it. There will be several out there shooting. shortly. I've bulilt two rifles using the Falcon action, one has a 12 oclock firing pin and shoots well, loads very easily, and has killer ignition. Right now the bedding is drying on one with a 6 oclock firing pin set up. I should get to test it this week. Call Leonard Baity of Baity Custom Gunworks and talk with him. He designed it, and can tell you about it. Look under actions on the home page for his #.

I just ordered one it is suppose to be ready in a week or two. As soon as I get it I can wait to get it to Gorham to be build. Good looking action, I will follow up when I get to shoot it some.

Is there only one locking lug on this action. From the picture, it appears as if its only the handle. A few people around here asked me and I had no idea. It is like the 52 or is there only one lug.

I had the pleasure of visiting Mr Baitys shop a couple of weeks ago. I was amazed at the equipment and even more impressed with his attention to detail. And he is a nice guy to boot! As the hours passed it was easy to see will leave no stone unturned before his actions leave the shop. The performance of these first 10 will be evaluated by him and if any problem should occur I would bet that it would be solved quickly. I pestered him and offered to buy any sported he would build add my name to the list! I already have 2 big guns and don't need another but I wait patiently on the Falcon sporter. Can't wait to shoot the 6 oclock firing pin when Kent finishes it next week. May change my mind about needing a new big gun?

Guess not Don. I won't be at there. Maybe someone will be brave enough to try one at the ARA Nationals. After all, Stiller will have a couple there.

Fred
I think the majoriy of initial sales of Falcon actions is in the south east. Not many ARA fans out here. They have only been on the market a couple of weeks so it is taking a little time to get barrels and stocks fitted. The key is, production models are actually in shops getting set up. If anyone from Virginia is going to St Louis they would be welcome to borrow one for you to try. Most people will not take a brand new rifle to shoot in a Nationals. I am dumb enough to do that but am not coming to St Louis

Which action is Stiller going to bring Fred. The 40x clone he has been working on for the last couple of years, Or the revised designed he talked about? Either one or both will be good for Rimfire. Maybe he can send one to the IR50/50 Nationals. Look forward to seeing how they perform.

Fatback:
You have to ask Jerry. I know that Jerry Hensler a well know CF shooter is taking a 40X clone. Whether Jerry Stiller brings along the Lone Star Action, is up to him.

Don:
I guess we'll just have to wait. I was able to see and handle the new Hall action to see how it was put together at the ARA National the year it came out. That's why I have one in my arsonal.

I have two of the Halls and love them. That doesn't mean I won't try others.
