Eley Match Price Increase

ammo prices

Don your questions about ammo prices, next Eley to come in will be about 13.50 for black red about 17.00 or in that range Lapua about 9.00 12.50 20.00 for the three grades they sell federal ? RWS ? I think Bob got the screws laid to him in the ammo deal He worked his a$$ off to make the ammo he sold the best it could be and then it was pulled out from under him and then every tom dick and harry started selling what he had worked to make so successful. Don that is the way most things work today, wear your bullet proof vest backward and it will possibly keep the pitch fork out of your BACK. Most of our Group shooting friends have quit and some have passed our good buddy Doc Dodgen passed a few years back. Chief

Thanks Jerry,

Yes, after retiring from competition shooting in 2005 due to failing health mostly and having been away from this forum for almost as long, I can see a lot has changed. We always worried about the sport's lack of growth due to declining new/young blood. We were also concerned about the rising costs of ammo/travel expense as well and wondered how in the world any new bloods could afford it. Looks like its all come to pass. The ammo prices are astounding, but so is everything else these days.

And yes, many have moved on to the range in the sky. I think of Doc quite often and wonder about many of the other old timers I use to shoot with occasionally?

Time sure flies by in our golden years and things change much too quickly for us old boys.

Ya'll take care and thanks for the reply,
Don

I just received 4 bricks from Zanders, and the UPS charge was less than $20.00

Note:
Went back and check the package, and it was UPS.

PO delivering a lot of UPS packages around here.

UPS truck backs up to the PO most days. Houses can be quite a ways apart in many places.

The other thing-an invoice recently noted an extra charge for residential delivery. Perhaps that pays the PO.
I know UPS has had an extra charge for 'non-business' addresses for a long time.
