Just wondering.....someone started a thread here yesterday....and today it's gone. Vanished. Puff...just like that.

How does this happen? And why?

Or do I have an over-active imagination?

thanks,
Tod

Ok....but he had a half dozen replies in short order.

Also...I didn't know that I could make my thread disappear. How do I do that??

There are moderators on this board also that can delete a thread if its deemed inappropriate. You can delete your thread by deleting the first post in it.

Hmmmm

Sometimes I post something, and then read it after posting, and think, "what idiot put that on the forum". It is then time to hit the delete option......jackie

Yeh, Francis

It is in the 40's one day, (that is "Winter" down here), and the 80's the next.
It's raining at the moment. Or maybe that is just our famous humidity. Hard to tell sometimes........jackie

disappearing thread

There was a very interesting post on new laws about serial numbers on bullets . Some one complained and it was deleted saying it wasnt appropriate. I don't believe that'' It was a heads up on new laws that threaten to destroy accuracy in our bullets and cause problems for us in reloading. Still a few members had it deleted' that was bad form to say the least' this is a place to discuss ideas and information . there are a lot of ideas and questions people ask. Why not just let them take their course
It should only be deleted if it is bad form or nasty.
Give people a break to speak their minds .
after all we should all get to know each other. be polite''

It must have to get really ugly for the "FORM GODS" to nix a thread.....I'm sure we all saw the "what caliber" thread last month on the 1000 yd form!!! And there were people BEGGING for the GOD's to strike that one down. (Sorry about that one, guys   )

The thread yesterday was a question about what a ".335" neck was. After a few replies the original poster gave more detailed explanation of the gun in question. I am not sure of the particulars other than it was a 308 win. He also stated that the last group shot by the gun was a " .320 INCH OUTSIDE group at 200 yards" (.012 inch group:confused:). I politely questioned the placement of the decimal point (thinking more like 3.2" outside). Anyway.....it went away before I saw the reply.

Ah that thread.

I went after you and asked about the credibility of the seller of the rifle (it was for sale) when he shot one round and "thoroughly cleaned" and shot another round and "thoroughly cleaned" for 100 shots as barrel break in, he used that in the advertising blurb !! I also suggested that I wouldn't anticipate to many more 0.006 MOA groups.

At that point the poster thought we were just being mean (I was just trying to be realistic/honest) and he pulled the plug on the thread.

disapering thread.

i didn't read the post on the 335 neck 308.
But let me sat this. Don't under estimate a 308 in competition.
Yes the group size was very small but it could have been center to center.
That would make it a 3 in minutes of angle. I have shot some amazing groups with the 308.
One at the supershoot in 1989. It was a .155 at 100 yds. (pretty good for a hv at 100yds} The person in question may have made a mistake but an actual 6 at 200 is an actual 3 by score.
