Cut Rifled barrel question

I am rechambering a .50bmg with a Feddersen single point cut rifled by Dan Peddersen barrel. This is a raw barrel blank 2" in diameter. I dont have a bore scope but when I look down the bore the lands are smooth but the grooves are dull and you can see each cut mark. It appears to me that it has not been hand lapped. This is my first cut rifled barrel. Should I leave it or try to lap it? It will be used for long range competition.

Leave it.
Dan wouldn't have sent it out to you if it wasn't right.
He rebored an ole Winchester for me years ago and I thought the same thing when I looked down the barrel, it shoots good.
His barrels/gunsmithing are always top contenders at the 50 cal. Nationals too.

This is a product of all cut rifled barrels.

I deal mostly in 6mm and 30 caliber cut rifled barrels, both Krieger and Bartlien, and they all have those very small length ways tool marks in them. You can see them easilly with a borescope, and yes, it can take you back.

But, it seems to have no affect on performance, fouling, or any other perameters that define a top quality barrel.........jackie
