Does anyone know of any Airgun competitions or ranges that are primarily for airguns in middle Tennessee.

I would like to get my feet wet in airgun benchrest as I do know how accurate they can be.

Appreciate any tips on where to look.

Thanks,
Regis (near Nashville)

Apparently, no

One of the problems is vast areas of the country where there are no venues. Add to that there are limited numbers of folks wanting to compete and willing to spend a few K on competitive equipment. I took my Air Rifle to Florida a couple of winters and was a member of a club there. When I broke out the air rifle there were a lot of folks interested and a number of them named off the make and model rifle they had at home and enjoyed. None of them were interested in competing with them.

It's a difficult problem and one that I don't see being solved easily. There seems to be more Field Target matches around but I haven't looked into it.

I tried to have some AGBR matches in North GA. Had 4 shooters at the first match and none at the next 2. Gave up. I put on River Bend's RF BR matches and would happily include airguns if I could get some interest. I do have 1000 AGBR targets to use up..... RBGC is much closer to Atlanta than the first venue I use which was the original Gold City Rimfire range.

Pete,

I shoot AG BR in Florida and belong to one of three small AG clubs here. We have been talking about having an Eastern Regeion BR match because most of us can't travel to California for the Nationals. If your club is large enough to host a decent number of shooters and is willing to host such an event, please get in touch with me. We are looking for a venue that's centrally located in the Eastern region. We're here, it's just that we aren't aware of each other. Check out my post on the FLUBR match on Jan 30, 2016.

I am going to try to make that match in January. I shoot RF at two clubs each month, one in Myakka Head and the other in Jacksonville, both sanctioned matches.

I use to be a member @ the club in Mims when we stayed @ Daytona but this is too far away now to reasonably travel back and fourth. They have limited shooting times as well. The club in Jacksonville that holds the matches I attend is a nice place and open every day, all day I think. I don't practice anymore so it doesn't make a lot of sense to become a member.
