colloidal graphite sales

graphite

I buy high purity stuff for my lab from Aldrich Chemical. They have it in several sizes. It ain't cheap and probably not what your looking for. tiny

colloidal graphite

An easy to find source of suspended colloidal graphite is your NAPA auto parts. They sell a 3.5 oz. bottle of LOCK-EASE at around $3.00. Part # 765-1382.

It is colloidal graphite suspended in a petroleum distillate. Just 2 or 3 drops on a patch and run throough the barrel after cleaning and you are ready for great things.

I went to Tony Boyer's school a couple of years ago and after cleaning my barrel, Tony asked if I had any Lock Ease. If it is good enough for him, it has to be ok....and I do not mind shaking it up before use.

Hope this helps.

Wanna buy a quart?

Francis, like you, I bought a gallon about 7 years ago, gave away a bunch and still have over a half gallon. $18.50 + shipping.

I use w2 drops on a patch after each cleaning and a saturated patch after a days shooting. Goes a long way.

P.S.: How are the tomatoes doing? I hope they haven't joined up with those killer ones of a few years back.

I have seen friends

drop 4 drops on a patch and run it through their barrel. For the life of me, when one considers the amount that will be retained by the patch, how the little bit that is rubbed on the bore can do anything meangful, but that's juat me :p. Personally I think it's Benchrest Myth # 746 :D.

When did you plant them?

We usually plant the first ones in April then again in July. The best ones, the creoles, are usually harvested, the first ones anyway, in early June.

August is your early winter, isn't it. Too little, too late I think.:(

You should be happy you don't live up Pete Wass's way. They only grow ice and snow. Sorry about that Pete.

Good looking out, I called my local NAPA and they did not have it in stock, but had it ordered for me and will be in, in a day. Do you still mix it with Kroil, or do you use it straight?

Lock Ease

I just use it straight and I just feel better about sending that first shot down a good barrel with a little something to stop friction.

Don't know if Kroil would help. That stuff is amazing as a solvent though.

All this concern

for one bullet? When that "fore", as I have heard some Texans say, follers that bullet out through, do you think them tiny bits of graphite still cling fastidiously? Has anyone ever looked?

I have a gallon of penephite i have put in brown glass dropper bottles that are for sale cheap if anyone is interested. 1 bottle will last a long time. A gallon would last a person about 10 lifetimes.
