co-axial rest design

I guess I'm still trying to grasp what you are saying. As far as your last post. Even though I have heard that you could make one for yourself without problems, I cannot verify this and don't remember saying that.

It seems these days one can get a patent on just about anything. Have you ever taped anything on your TV? Chances are you are breaking copyright laws. I know of a tool company that seems to take joy in getting patents for tools that have been around for decades and they also like to take old books that are probably in the public domain and stick a copyright on them. If you look up the Choate patent for their stock you will see that they now hold the patent for just about every stock and device thereon. Look it up. My comment about patents was meant to state the obvious that if would be awfully foolish to sue for a few dollars when it would cost you many times more to say nothing of your time wasted.

Segue to off topic: A TV story a few years ago showed a sort-of rake a guy invented that was used to clear weeds in a pond or lake. A simple design, made of pipe, it seemed to work well. The guy had it patented; I hope that didn't cost him much... I have been unable to find one for sale.
