If you are like me, you have quite a few barrels laying around, some in the "no" pile, some in the "maybe" pile, and a few in the "yes" pile. All need protection.
Here is a cheap easy way to make barrel protectors, If you have a Lathe. Get some 1 inch standard PVC, about 1 5/16 on the OD and 1 1/32 on the ID. Cut off pieces about 1 1/4 inches long. Glue them into 1 1/4 caps. Chuck the cap up and thread itnwith the barrel tenon thread. For the usual 1.0625 threads, you don't even have to bore, just thread.
Cheap, easy, does the job.
