So I have three bullets, .224 diameter. They are same weight, but different bearing surface.
All three are boat tail.
I'm seeking advise, Which is best for stability, in a slow twist rate. Say for a 222 Rem ?
Presuming adequate twist for the over-all LENGTH, it's unlikely that the bearing surface length, except for "tuning" (powder charge weight:velocity), will have an effect: for a .224 bullet, a OAL difference of .03125" (1/32nd") will equate to nearly a full inch of twist: shorter, slower;
longer, faster twist. Throw weight out the window and learn to think/compare LENGTH. RG
