They are new, very similar to the new trigger on the winchester model 70. They are adjustable to a small degree poundage wise, but to get a decent light poundage trigger pull you will probably need to change springs. Generally they are not terrible as far as factory rifle hunting triggers go, not great either, adjusting sear engagement and creep may be a challenge, you may or may not get anywhere. Jewels they are not, if you are really fussy about triggers the only cure is to change it, though I'm not sure whats available on the aftermarket for them. Your mileage may vary.
