On a rail, no. But I have chambered quite a few for long range guns, and these are 30" long barrels. They are the straightest drilled barrels you'll find. The finish is great and they slug very well. They seem to shoot quite well.
I still wear a NBRSA diaper, but I'm very interested in this topic. After watching the "Unlimited" match out at Tomball on Saturday, I found my mind completely occupied for the rest of th weekend. I spent some time yesterday with a friend of mine that is a very meticulous person at aplace where men sometimes gather to bond. I was telling him about these rail guns. Are there standard benchmark items that go unchallenged oris this arena a plethora of custom innovations, voodoo, along with a sprinkling of black magic???
.......and btw, aren't they supposed to hand out repellent kinda like mosquito spray at these matches so you don't come home with some affliction you didn't have before you got there.....?????
I think Tony Boyer won a lot of matches with some Broughtons a few years back and maybe the heavy at the supershoot in 2000 with one..I might be wrong on the superstoot date but i know he some success while using them..
I have 2 broughtons on 2 light guns and they will both shoot 1" and better at 500 yds. My smith also said about how straight they were and how precision ground they are. I highly recommend them. Plus they normally don't take that long to get compared to the others.
