BR associations

Larry and Pat,
Excellent posts! If either of you are not familiar with rsmithsr, he has been a 'RFBR troll' here several times over the years. IIRC, he has also been banned from this board at least once but is a current member now. As you can clearly see by his posts, he has either no knowledge of the rules, or a very skewed vision of how he interprets them. He mostly posts in the CFBR sections, where he can also be very contentious. If he continues here, we should probably just start reporting his posts, as they are combative and not based on any written rules.

i see a child has poked its head up. ATTACKS THE POSTER, NO INPUT ON THE ACTUAL SUBJECT....NOW WHO IS THE TROLL??

Not sure why you're being stupid. For ARA, there is no rule about the age of the rifle used in Factory class, as several folks have told you. We can't help you if you are being stubborn...

Read the rules, or just quit complaining please...
i shot ara but got tired of A) being on the bottom of the list because i was shooting a factory rifle in unlimited because of the rules and B) the guy running the matches.
if i buy a rifle today, and the maker quits making it on dec 31 2024, can i shoot it next year in factory class ??

Of course you can. If you somehow modified the factory rifle and/or rest so you're not following the ARA Factory rules, then you would have no choice but to shoot in the unlimited class. Maybe that's why the MD told you that. You should really read the rules for Factory rifles, and quit your excuses and whining.

What rifle were you shooting that was not aloud to use in ARA factory class?
What mods were done to the rifle?

for years at my club i shot rf br matches. we had two classes, both were factory, no custom. sporter with up to a 6x scope and target with no scope limit. no aftermarket all factory. move to lovely az, and no club 22 br. ara is the only thing i can find..and the rifle i have shot forever is not allowed as a factory rifle. a win 52b. so i shot ara in custom class for a while but when the match director changed so did the matches..and i quit. this year with no belief that there was 22rf factory/target shooting to be had i sold the rifle and the ammo. 52b is a factory rifle, but is EXCLUDED by the guy that wants to sell new rifles, not to see actual rf competition. the rules say a current production rifle, but if production stops,, the rifle is NOT current production, so how can one shoot by the rules

Take the time to read the entire pages.

Since you obviously like to complain, I really can't help you. I can include some details from the attachment so you can read them here...

It sounds like your club you shot at before you moved was a local club with club rules. Club rules will change when the good old boys are losing.

After you moved to AZ and started shooting ARA which has sanction matches across the United States has posted set rules that everyone must follow. If you read the rule book you will see that your 52B is not permitted in the factory class, therefore you were bumped up to the ulimited class. The match director did what need to be done per the rule book.

for the record, the local club has shot the rimfire br match for over 20 years. the only change in that time was adding the .17's in a sep category in both sporter and target.
and yes i read the ara rules. as i stated it was clear to me he wants to sell new rifle not compete against proven rifles, so he bans them. again the rules say current production is allowed, but the day after production quits, your rifle is no longer legal and you must buy something else...again ALL ABOUT SELLING RIFLES

You must be fun at parties. For the record dumbass, they likely make 10X more selling ammo than rifles, which most buy elsewhere.

If one can find any rifles for sale at Killough Shooting Sports, please let me know. I scoured their website the other day and found zero rifles for sale, yet a certain member here still claims selling rifles was the original goal of the rule that excluded HIS rifle. Hum? Kind of hard to sell rifles that you don't have.
