Bolt Action Gun Lubricant

I fought it at the last match.... and the one before. I used Dohrmann's Purple Passion and Wonder Lube last go-round and STP Break-In oil and the red stuff the one before.

Both sucked.

Today I finally stripped 'er back down to bare and went back to die wax...... either Tru-Kote or Imperial.....aaaaahhhhhhh, relief, still best thing I know of.

As far as NOT lubing???? Dude, they wear fast enough as it is! Not lubing a bolt action is just silly.

The very first time you load a snug fitting round in a chamber & feel that gritty graunch as you close the bolt right down to your wedding tackle, you'll realise that the answer is an emphatic YES!

(or so I've been told)

Been there, done that. I was never around shooters who lubed their lugs regularly until I started benchrest shooting. Now that I have learned, I can see the error of my ways in the galled lugs on some of the guns I used to shoot a lot.

Uh, what is wedding tackle?...................ah, never mind, I think I got it!
(Isn't it amazing the things one learns on the internet?):D
