Can you talk KC into hosting a Virginia State match? That might be enough incentive for us to try to gather up a crowd for Sunday
How many Hooters will it take?

I shot in an IBS CF match there a couple of years ago. It's easy to get to and he has a bunch of ranges there. Worth a trip to look it over.

I shot at Black Creek in '98, 99, '01 and 2 for the IR Nationals. Absolutely fantastic range! Centrally located along the East Coast, within 7 mile of Richmond Airport and loads of Hotels/Motels, Restaurants for any and all tastes, extremely well maintained facility, plus Kay C. is a great person for those of you who may have never met him. Oh, and let's not forget about the on-site gun shop.

Because of my proximity to Black Creek it wouldn't make sense for me to make the run down for anything less than the Nationals (565 miles on Rte. 95, including going through N.Y.C., BALTIMORE, & D.C.), but I sure wish I could.

Good luck, and say "Hi" to Kay C. for me,

Dave Shattuck

I would like to shoot it sometime, but I can't on the 10th.

If you can get to Roanoke by 8:30, you can ride with me. That would save my wife from having to keep me company

KC mailed me the schedule for the rest of the year. After July 10th (tomorrow), there will be two more matches, August 21st and September 11th.

These are "unlimited" in that anything goes, and not sanctioned. If they get decent attendance, likely regular sanctioned matches will follow.

Not being sanctioned will hurt the attendance. The guys chasing List points will not travel to a non-sanctioned match.

As a long-rime rimfire competitor & gunsmith, I'm sure KC knows this. He just needs to see if there is enough interest to offer sanctioned rimfire matches down the road. The Black Creek range has really low prices -- $15 entry fee to shoot an IBS score match (CF). KC needs enough shooters to cover the range costs.

I have shot at Black Creek since 1993, and was a member until moving out of Richmond so am fairly familiar with the people and facility. Also a match director for 6 years in western part of the state. When you spend $50 on ammo for three targets a few dollars for entry fee is insignificant. He needs the local people to support it but he needs the points chasers to make a go of it.
