Big News from Berger Bullets

When I returned to Berger in 2004, I was able to spend more time communicating directly with shooters through emails, phone calls and these forums. I believe strongly that it is from these interactions that we gain a better understanding of what rifle shooters need to be successful. I also understand that there are many shooters who need technical assistance.

Thanks to your support, Berger has been blessed with significant growth. Lately, the challenges that go along with growth while staying focused on quality have pulled me away from the phone, emails and forums. For some time, I have been working on resolving this shortcoming. Our announcement today is the final piece in our solution to this challenge.

It is with great pleasure that I announce the addition of Kevin Thomas to the Berger Bullets team as our E-Technical Consultant. Kevin spent the last 15 years as Sierra’s Chief Ballistician. Prior to becoming Sierra's Chief Ballistician, Kevin spent 6 years moving from Sierra's production floor to their ballistics lab. Kevin will use his extensive shooting knowledge to help folks get the most out of their rifle shooting experience.

Kevin’s addition to Berger puts into place the final piece of our customer service solution. Below is a list of Berger Bullets’ resources that shooters can go to get the answers they need.

Technical Support by Phone – 714-447-5458
Berger has partnered with Sinclair International to provide extensive phone coverage by active and knowledgeable shooters. Led by Bill Gravatt, Sinclair is a highly-respected and legitimate source for technical assistance (among other things).

Loading Data and Technical Assistance from Walt Berger – bergerltd@aol.com
Founder and member of the Benchrest Hall of Fame, Walt Berger’s extensive shooting experience is a tremendous resource for those who need help. Over the last several years, Walt has been working on our loading manual. This work has generated loading data specific to Berger Bullets in most popular cartridges.

Loading Data and Technical Assistance from Kevin Thomas – kevin.thomas@bergerbullets.com (email is not active yet)
Kevin spent two decades shooting in Sierra’s test facility every day and working with major ammo producers on several projects. Additionally, he is an experienced, active and successful competitive target shooter. He will soon be available for those who need shooting related assistance.

External Ballistic Assistance from Bryan Litz – bryan.litz@bergerbullets.com
Bryan’s reputation as a top external ballistics mind is well known. Equally recognized is his success as a competitive target shooter. Bryan is available for those who need to address advanced external ballistics concerns.

Both Kevin Thomas and Bryan Litz will actively engage the forums as we strongly believe that forums are a valuable resource for all shooters (us included).

All of the people listed above are active rifle shooters and are committed to your success. These folks can provide an even greater level of shooting-related technical assistance than I. For this reason, you will see less of me as I focus my attention on the production floor (which is my strength). I will not be disconnected or unavailable, but I will rely heavily on this “dream team” of technical experts to provide you with the information you need to get back to the range or into the field.

Regards,
Eric

Great News !

Eric, you and Walt certainly have a knack for attracting and hiring the best of the best. WOW! Brian Litz and Kevin Thomas on the same team.

I'm sure you will be contacting me soon to fill the next vacancy but sorry; I'm retired. :p :D :D

Way to go man

Gene Beggs

Kevin sure knows the bullet, reloading and bullet testing business. That's a given.

Get Kevin on benchrest.com. We need to take him apart.

Now you guys need a 600/1000 yard tunnel.

Eric, I'm retired too. Give the next job to Beggs. I plan on staying retired!!

later

I just looked down to the "barrel length vs pressure" thread and there is a K Thomas, from Sedalia, MO even!!! Welcome sir.

Eric,

You have built a technical dream team with the addition of Kevin. This team combined with yourself (a very competent BR shooter and up and coming F-Class star) and Michelle Gallagher means Berger has access to a range of knowledge in the BR, L-R and NMC field head and shoulders above the rest of the bullet makers. Everyone mentioned is a high level shooter. And what’s worth more is that knowledge is free for the asking. Thanks for changing the face of bullet making and marketing.

Congratulations

Congratulations Eric!

While I have always received great attention and advice from both you and Walt, I am sure the addition of Kevin will help to make a great company become even better!

But, no matter what he tells you, I promise that changing your boxes to green will not make a difference! :)

Waty to Go Berger.....

Eric:

I among others appreciate yours and Bergers efforts to make the best production target bullets on the market.

I also appreciate your open and willingness to interact with the shooting community. This dialogue has and will keep your company on the fore front of bullet making.

Hiring the best qualified people is a smart move.

Thanks
Nat Lambeth

Tony,
Not that Eric and I had discussed changing the box color, but thanks for the consideration. Actually, I find those nice yellow boxes to be about perfect just the way they are, and you'd have a hard time finding any of that old color on my shelves these days.

As we say, I shoot better; I shoot Berger!"

I hope you don't throw a TANGENT about this Kevin, but I'm glad you SE that you CANT beat a Berger! :p

Seriously, congratulations on your move!

Okay, Tony

that was good. I'd like to think I'm still approaching the mid-range trajectory of my career, and have some time to go before I arc into the descending branch. Just wanted to make sure that my vapor trail still had me headed towards the X-ring . . . and Berger is clearly the best way to ensure that, as you well know.

Actually, I simply came to the realization that there was no way I was EVER going to beat Michelle, and as they say, if you can't beat 'em, well, you know the rest. It's great to be on board, and thanks for the welcome!

Kevin

Job 0ne

should be to make certain the bullets are , within reason,( + -.001 ) the same length in the area from where the seater stem touches the bullet to where the bullet engages the lands. Find a way to do that and you will be #1, hands down.

I appreciate all the kind words and offers to join the Berger team:) I know that those who frequent this forum are among the most knowledgable in the shooting sports so there is no shortage of qualified folks here.

I also appreciate Peter's feedback and anyone who has thoughts or observations on our bullets is encouraged to share them. We take great pride in the fact that we are listening closely to the shooters. It may seem sometimes like this feedback is not considered but it only seems that way.

As Larry pointed out we are shooters too. We know what challenges go along with this great sport and we will do as much as we can to make it easier on the shooter (that's how we like it).

It is with additional pleasure that I announce Kevin's email has been activated. If you need any assitiance please contact him at kevin.thomas@bergerbullets.com.

Regards,
Eric
