Big decisions

All you have to do is take one look at the Gulf Coast Region's schedule to see that many of us have some tough decisions to make as to what Matches we will be able to attend this Season.

I really want to shoot a lot of Varmint for Score. I also want to shoot a lot of Group. I also have to Work a lot. I am also not as young as I used to be.

Of course, I will make the Houston Matches, and the BlueBonnet, and since the Midland Match on the 4th of July is a three day holiday, that is a sure thing. So are the Unlimited Matches at Seymore plus the Group Nationals in Midland.

I am going to try to make as many of the Austin and Lake Charles VFS Matches as possible. I am a tad diappointed that the Louisianna State VFS is on the Sunday of the last week end of the Nationals. THat is a Match I wanted to attend.

So how is it shaping up for the rest of you. How many are planning to shoot VFS, how many Group? Which will be your Discipline of choice? Since there are a LOT of matches, you have plenty to choose from.......jackie

Jackie,

With the NBRSA Group Nationals being in your neck of the woods this year, I figured you would concentrate on group this year so you can add to them HOF points you have.

Don't BS me Jackie. I hope I'm not sensing frustation. Remember, you can still be in the HOF before your buddy Gene. That in itself should drive you. I bet he would trade in some of that Gold he's got for some HOF points. Friendly competition can be your best friend.

I also enjoy both group and score matches. Additionally, this year we have a couple of long range matches scheduled in the Gulf Coast and I am really looking forward to shooting those matches. Shooting the Nationals in Midland is another goal for this year.
If you wanted to do so, you could shoot almost every weekend I think. My retirement bank account can't stand that. :(

Jackie I envy the position you folks are in down there with having to make those decisions.

For myself I hope to shoot 4 matches this year. 3 at my home club 2.5 hours away and one at Calgary about 12 hours away. Calgary is having 2 others but to drive that distance for a weekend........................................

We need to support our few matches up here but for a few extra hours (beyond the 12 hours) I can attend some very nice matches in the US.

I may have to rethink this shooting thing and get back into the sledding and maybe racing them................. Winter lasts longer than summer................... :=(

NO VFS for I... It's all about the PPC and the group shoots for me... Of course as well as I shoot group anymore I might just as well pick up the shot gun and shoot clays.......
Been trying to get in as much practice in already but the Dallas weather has not been real promising yet...Looking forward to seeing everyone in Tomball for the UL/Hvy in March to get the season going.....

Jackie

It should be about time for you to retire, buy a new motorhome, load up your guns, barrels and bullets and just go where ever you want and shoot and not worry about the little things>>> Just hit the open road..............

Take Care
