Berger 6PPC Barrel does anyone know anything about these barrels?

Hi, I am very new to this forum. We use to shoot this rifle a lot then kind of got out of it. Now I am thinking about getting back in, we never shot competition so I don't know much about the classes I think this would be a heavy Varmint? It shoots great at 100 and 200Y. My question is we bought this off a guy Named George who was a competition shooter (don't remember his last name) But have you ever heard of this Barrel Maker Berger I know Berger makes Bullets but did they ever make Barrels? It is a 6ppc, 722 action, McMillen stock. I added some pics for you to see

Berger Barrel

Looks as if someone named Berger may have chambered the barrel and is not the barrel maker. Just my opinion.

Berger Barrel

Most likely your barrel was chambered by Walt Berger's brother Nelson Berger that leaves in Marshallvile in Ohio and was an excellent riflesmith. Nelson has been retired for several years.

Now that is possible, I live in Ohio and the rifle came from Indiana.
Thanks for the info. This would be a Heavy Varmint Class?
 
Weight will tell you

If your rifle with scope weighs between 10 1/2 lbs and 13 1/2 lbs, it is in the Heavy Varmint class.

I sat next to Nelson at the Super Shoot 4 yrs ago. I think, he said he still does his own barrels. Real nice fellow.
Call Kelbly's or Berger's Get his phone number. Nelson likes to talk guns. And he is retired.........Give him a call......

Thanks for all the replies, I sent a picture up to Kelblys on Friday have not heard back yet and I got Nelson's phone number. This could be about 25 years old. It will cut them at 200 but I don't know if it would still be competitive with todays models.
