Bedding a Savage Target action?

I have a Savage .204 LRPV, it has the H-S stock with the aluminum bedding block and I'm wondering if a guy should bed the tang or not? I know with the older Savages the tang should float, but this stock has 3 mounting bolts. Does that make a difference or not?

Thanks, Tom

This is a single-shot action.

Tom,
I am not qualified enough to answer your question, but you may, if not here, find the answer on www.savageshooters.com. My savages, a two screw and a three screw, both have the tang free floated as per the choice of the gunsmiths. I have read some people are able to "tune" their gun with the action screws, but this, to me, is a symptom of a non-stress free bedding job...maybe that tang should have some bedding at least on the three screw? You can also try www.accurateshooter.com. great info on both sites.
