barrel contours for tuners

Now that I've got the tuner bug and don't want to "step" or recontour all my future barrels, I'm in need of a lighter barrel contour. I recall seeing something posted about a special contour that Lester gets from Krieger and am curious as to total weight? The way my gun is set up, I already have to cut all but the last inch of shank off and then step the barrel down to take an additional 4ozs off, to make weight with the 7oz tuner. I guess I need to lose a half a pound to make it easy, a hunter class contour would probably get me there, any other idea's?

Don'tworry about the weight of the barrel. What I did wascut my barrelstowhere they only weigh 76 ounces. They shoot just fine.
To do this, you take a standard LV-Sporter Blank and cut it so that you leave only about 1/2 inches of "straight" on the chamber end. At 21 1/2inches, you will have no trouble getting the barrel down to 76 ounces.
I have proven to myself that you do not need a "heavy" barrel to shoot winning aggs.........jackie

I'm not worried about how heavy the barrel is, the one I'm currently using comes in at 73ozs. That puts me right at 10lbs 7.5 oz total weight. The thing is, I've got to turn the barrel down to get to this weight, and I'd rather just use an existing contour so as not to have to mess with it in the future. I already have 2 more blanks to go on this rifle so I will find out the best method of losing the weight. If I had enough common sense, I would have just built on a lighter action, but I love 3 lug BAT's, this one weighs about 34ozs.
