Austin Rifle Club-Match Results-July 28-Repeat Win for Moore

Cooler day in the 80's with spotty rain and SE breeze 5-10mph. And another excellent show by Charles Moore with a 250-23X repeat score of last month. He's on a hot streak with these back to back 23X's and a 22X yesterday up in Mansfield, Tx. Great to see everything clicking just right. Steve Krause couldn't come close with a 2nd place 250-16X. 3rd place VFS was Big Steve Brown at 250-14X. Looks like we'll have to hog tie Charles to beat him.
Hunter rifle was won by Tommy Maedgen with a 248-12X and posting 4 clean targets. 2nd Hunter was Curt Gallaher at 243-10X beating his brother John's 240-10X.
Factory rifle class top shooter was John Price and his 223 shooting 241-4X. 2nd Factory shooter was Paul Shanklin getting a 237-7X with a 308 Win. And a big welcome to new shooter in factory, Joe Schoch in his first match. A true factory CZ 527 in 222 Rem got him a 205-1X with a better score on each match.

Good shooting everyone in the first match with our newly constructed downrange overhead baffles. Hope to have pictures next month as this was a major project to minimize (the possibility) of rounds escaping the property. The curious among us wondering how these baffles would effect downrange wind currents.....but obviously Charles saw no problems.
Congrats to Charles for tying the club record....again at 23 X's.
Next months match will be August 25, starts at 10am. Thanks to all for target posting and setup work. It takes us all to put on a good match.
Steve Krause, Benchrest Match Director
