I'm sure Steve is referring to the Creedmore Tie Breaker.

Jackie is correct. With the Ag coming out to a tie, you refer to Match#1 target to see which is the "better" score. (My word, prob not a recognized NBRSA term).
Robert's target, in order, had an X,X,X,X,10. Steve Y had an X,X,X,10,X.
So Robt won the tiebreaker.

Thanks, I just wondered whether "better" meant more wipeouts.

Not intending to initiate a brawl - y'all can arm-wrestle next month!

Technically, that is not the correct, "tie breaker": for the the [yardage] tie-breaker we compare the match one scores - best score, regardless of X sequence, wins, as in, 50-4 beats 50-3. If the match one scores are a tie - as in 50-4X to 50-4, then, match two scores are compared, and so forth, until there is a winner. If, through all five matches, the scores are tied, then, the tie-breaker becomes, "first miss and out", or, beginning on match #1, bull #1, the first missed X loses. Keep 'em ON the X! RG

OOOOPs - I probably, "went off half cocked again" . . . if not a registered event, the club(s) may do as they please - maybe that's how it is/was.:eek:RG

Robinett is Correct!

I learned long ago not to brawl when you are outmatched.

Yes, now that I have read the Rev#40 Jan 2018 Rule Book, I see that proper tie breaker for Yardage Ag. I'm new to this Match Dir gig and I have been referencing my old and dogeared 1980 Rule Book. (I can hear the laughter now!)
We run a non-registered match but I and my predecessor try to follow NBRSA Rules. The current rulebook is woefully short on scoring info and NO mention of best edge or Match target tiebreakers, ANYWHERE. The only mention of wipeouts is tie-breaking a 250-25X situation. So maybe someone can point me to the "Creedmore Scoring Rulebook for Idiots". There MUST be more info ,esp for beginners, somewhere.

There is a lot more scoring info in my old copy...it addresses Match winners and breaking those ties. NOT so in current book. Old book even has definition of Miss and Out. Rev #40 rulebook not so much.
I DO appreciate the comments and guidance, half cocked or not. I do reach out to the more experienced shooters when questions arise. But ( how do I put this softly) sometimes that don't work either.

Nothin but X's
SK
