Rain, 60 percent; temp, 38 degrees; but....four brave souls showed up and we had a match. The rain never came, but the wind as per usual did. It was nip and tuck between Gary and Steve though out the whole match with steady Steve plunking that final X. John shot a factory rifle and decided to shoot with the VFS guys. Robert just said, "wait till next time."

There were no Hunter shooters since I just ran the match to speed things along. In future, if rain chances are forecast for 60 percent rain in the Austin area, my match may be cancelled. Look in this forum for the title, "ARC MATCH CANCELLED", to find out. If this is not posted, on the last Sunday morning of the month, the match will be on. The main reason for cancellation is the danger of the range flooding during a heavy downpour, four to five inches. If this happens, shooters will not be able to drive out of the range due to high water across the exit bridge.

Virg, I wanted to drive over, I even pre loaded up 45 rounds with the new Barts Bullets. But it was raining at my house in Houston all day and, the radar showed that line of bad weather reaching towards Austin.

I just said to heck with it. I stayed home with my Wife and watched Football.

You know...you still hold the record for my matches (250/21X, Jan 2010) during 37 degree weather and shooting preloaded ammo. I know it's a long drive for just a 100yd match, but hope to see you soon. And...I might just try to make one of yours.

Jan match is the 25th at 1pm. Always the last Sunday of each month, year round.

Yeah. I remember that day very clearly. That was the day I finished second to Jackie with my 250-20X shot with my 6PPC. Boy was that day cold. It never got above 37.
