Anywhere to shoot F-Class in Colorado?

I've been looking for a range that holds F-Class matches in CO. and I'm not having any luck.
Does anyone here know of a location that holds F-Class matches?

BTW, I live about 20 miles north of Denver, so southeast Wyoming or southwest panhandle of Nebraska would work as well.
I know that Colorado Rifle Club holds NRA High Power matches all the time, but they don't list any F-Class shoots.

I wish the NRA (or anyone for that matter) would put up a page of all the ranges in the U.S. that hold F-Class shoots...
Perhaps someone has and I just missed it?
 
Did you ever consider extending your search over to long-range.com? They have both a 'Coming Events' and a 'Match Results' section; I'm guessing you could find some info useful to you there. Remember, most matches are *not* going to be billed as 'F-Class', but as 'Prone', 'Palma', or 'Fullbore' - F-Class is a sub-set of High Power, not exclusive in its own right.

You are a relatively short distance from the NRA Whittington Center outside of Raton, NM where they have Palma/Fullbore matches fairly regularly, including the 'Spirit of America' Fullbore National Championships. I think there is a fairly active range near Byers (not sure how far that is from you) as well. If you are fluent w/ Google Earth, you can go here to download a kmz file with the locations of Highpower/Fullbore rifle facilities around the world - sorted by country and then state/province.

As far as southwest Nebraska... good luck. I grew up between and a little north of Sidney & Ogallala, and later lived just west of Scottsbluff. Unless things have changed since I last moved away ~8yrs ago, their version of 'F-Class' involves SERTs (Self-Erecting Rifle Targets), aka 'prairie dogs'. The only range I heard of that had 'formal' matches of any flavor was near Alliance, and I have no idea what venues they offered.

Their F-Class events are weak...at best. F-Class gets mixed in at 600 any-any and 1000 any-any matches.Pretty low shooter turnout. The guy that ran it isnt using F-Class targets and the scores arent recorded. The focus there seems to be on highpower, too bad its a really nice facility.
 
F class

Hello Mike I also live in the Denver area. I belong to the CRC great range and club. I to am very interested in setting up F-class shoot. I was going to approach the gentleman who organizes the highpower matches as to what was needed to setup a shoot.:D

If your interested send me your email and I will try to start a list to present because it depends on the number of participants in a match. Also anyone else in the area that may be interested.
 
Just a suggestion...

most places I've seen try to run 'F-Class only' matches at the club level don't do so well. It's kind of a weird thing... conventional HP turnout is getting a little thin in a lot of places, so without the F-Class turnout they'd be gettting dangerously close to the lower feasibility limit themselves. F-Class doesn't have the critical mass in a lot of places yet so in essence both groups 'need' each other, whether they like to admit it or not.

I'd suggest seeing if you have a number of people who want to shoot F-Class at that range, and then start working on the match director and/or the club officers about getting proper repair centers. It certainly ain't going to break their piggy bank to order a 100-ct pack of repair centers (since you can already use the same target face as a regular MR-1 (600yd) or LR (8/9/1k) target. If (and when) you get enough shooters coming out on a regular basis (say, 10-20) where it starts getting crowded... *then* start looking at holding separate events. If you haven't shot F-Class or High Power before (which is the way it sounds like) then you need their experience to get you rolling - running the line, handling scoring discrepancies, etc. Nothing too tough, but something you want someone experienced around for until you get the hang of it - and then still for a while because you'll still run into some 'WTH?!?' situations. And you *really* don't want to get into a situation where one group starts accusing the other of using up the supplies, or leaving the radios with dead batteries, etc.

Show them that there are sufficient shooters interested in coming out, and then here's the tough part - get the shooters to actually get off their a$$ and show up. In my experience less than one-half of the people who act all interested and say they want to shoot actually show up. If that many.

CRC 1000 yd range

CRC has a range that goes out to 1000 yds, and they shot NBRSA 1000 yard Bench Rest in October '08.

As 2 others have said, based on your location, CRC, due east of Denver, not very far, north of Byers, entrance off E 96th Ave (via Google)

As others have also said, T/R (peep sighter heavy jacketed gloved slingers) and F Class (Scoped & Supported) need each other in matches to make the ends meet.

I'm from Canada myself and our club the SPRA (6 miles east of Nokomis SK) is holding a FClass only match(FF & FO), got all 36 spots filled for the June 2009 Driller's match. To fill the 36 spots, I have solicited FClass shooters from British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba. I know there are about 80 F Class shooters in these 4 provinces. This is our club's only F-Only match and the only F-Only I know of in Canada. To get the guys to drive the distance, I also solicited some vendors for door prizes. It is a hybrid match, shooting 300M DCRA target at 600 yds, for group and score similiar to IBS Light Gun, for 3 sets in the morning, Prone singles, then in the afternoon, pairs, at 600yds on a 300M target, 800yds on a 500yd target and again at 1000yds, 2+15 for what I call it, a Mini-Palma. I know, it's 1000-3000 miles away and back again but I've done that (SK to CA see below) just to shoot and get away from the snow and cold in March 2008, so it can be done if your want it bad enough LOL

F class ranges in CO

There is a range in Fort Morgan that shoots F class. It is 200 yards or
meters. You can contact Don Kammerer @ 970-867-1170. He can fill you in or make sure you get in touch with the right person. Its worth a try.......

There is a Mid Range / Long Range / Palma / F-class match at Whittington at the end of every month.

I just shot there last Sunday, but there were only 3 of us out there.
A couple of the regulars are down in South Africa right now.
 
F-Class Match

Matt,

We shoot a few (4 a year) F-Class matches in Alliance Nebraska. We shoot 800, 900, and 1000 yards. I do allow other shooters (old Military and BPCR to shoot with us) to shoot but we shoot F-Class targets with F-Class rules and the rest of them have to follow along.
