Try Super Stocks........Truman Wilson, proprietor. He is in Delta, about an hour southeast of Grand Junction & northwest of Montrose. That is a fairly long hike from Aurora, but he does nice work.
You can usually reach him @ 970-874-3030.

As I recall, Gre-Tan does a lot with long distance rifles. I have seen several articles in PS over the years. I also visited Greg one day several years ago. I was very impressed with his shop and work. He was finishing a Shehane stock the day I was there.

Do it yourself. Check out the 'Stress Free Pillar Bedding' article on 6BR.com

You can make your own pillars and you can mix 2.5 blobs of the grey stuff to 1 blob of the white stuff . Make sure you have the bore centerline aligned properly. It's easy to have the muzzle be lower than is correct. Also make sure you have the action level in the stock and not canted to the rt or lf. Put shoe polish on everything but the outside of the pillars.

I don't make the action screws do anything but bolt the action to the stock. No eschutchens and the trigger guard is held in by it's own screw with a threaded ferrule glued into the stock.

If you want to tackle the job I will take some pics tomorrow of my set up for leveling the action in the stock as the glue sets up.

ray,
if it was just a bedding job and adding pillars, i'd do it, but as mentioned, getting square, level...well it aint easy wihtout a mill.
i have a precission level,,,but this is an un-inlet stock....a case where i may spend the funds to get it done right the first time.
i'll go read the artical on 6mmbr
thanks to all

ray, i have bedded several rifles...yes and even got one stuck, learning as i went.
again this is more about the inletting than the bedding.
i read the 6mmbr article...bedding not inletting...heck even the writer said getting the inletting right was the first requirement.

This year I took four of the summer gunsmithing classes at Trinidad. One was stockmaking taught by Clayton Nelson. This guy did a stock from a blank in no time at all as part of his class demonstration. Course he's been doing this for fifty years. He lives in Trinidad, you might give him a buzz.
