Any Info on 223 Young caliber ?

Have acquired a rifle that has a Bench Master action with a stainless barrel chamber in 223 Young by CC Seitz, Portland, Oregon and I have searched the web without any luck. Does anyone have any information on the caliber or gun. Thanks Don

Since no one has provided an answer, I would suggest taking to a gunsmith and do a cerrosafe chamber cast! That should tell you everything you need to know. Then check barrel twist to determine what weight bullets to shootin it? Probably going to be a .223 with a different shoulder dimension. Instead of 46 degrees probably40?

That was my good friend Nick Young's creation. It was a 222 with a sharp shoulder and chambered to 223 length with the shoulder pushed back to create a long neck. I have the reamer, prints and an UL gun chambered in that round. It shoots very well.

At what distance are you shooting that Young?

Wasn't Charles Seitz a gunsmith and benchrest shooter of some accomplishment back in the 60's and early 70's?
