Any Airgun Benchrest in Florida?

I am becoming very interested in Airgun Benchrest and will be wintering in Florida. I will have a rifle to use; a "Beginner" sort of thing but would love to get involved in some Airgun Benchrest activity. Looking forward to replys.

Depends on where in Florida. Benchrest is alive and well but, in many areas, happening at private clubs.

I will be staying in Daytona Beach Shores again this winter. I can and do travel widely to shoot and am willing to join a club or clubs. I didn't see any clubs in Florida listed on the World site.

There are no sanctioned clubs in Florida since the private facilities I use will not permit matches with the general public.

This is, however, an opportunity. If you belong to private clubs that will allow matches, put some together. The National Scoreline has just started and 2012 World Postal qualifying will begin early next year. When you compare the price of ammo and give the international target a try, you will see what all the buzz is about.
 
I have been the Match Director for IBS Score matches at one of the clubs I am a member of for two years and will pick up the Rimfire matches in 2012. I will be looking to be only a shooter for the winter. Perhaps someone else will be interested in hosting some matches. Often the problem comes that folks only want to be shooters and when someone does step up to run things, folks still only want to be shooters. Folks need to step up and help out. We ain't Rock Stars. I'd be willing to help but I will be a tranient so not in a position to run anything.

Having hung around some range in Florida, I completely understand why Clubs do not want the General Public around. Having said that, experienced competative shooters are a different animal and trustworthy. It has bugged me to not have the experience recognized and considered when I have used the ranges. There should be some extra consideration for those who are seasoned, competative shooters who have demonstrated their trustwortyness IMHO.
