Ain't it the truth

Ah yes, life after the oilfield, can be somewhat misleading………..

Unfortunately, as I have gotten older, I have become a little less sensitive.

So, after trying my new job as a Wal-Mart greeter, last weekend (a good find for many retirees), I lasted less than a day......

About two hours into my first day on the job a very loud, coyote ugly, nasty woman walked into the store with her two kids, yelling obscenities at them all the way through the entrance.

As I had been instructed, I said pleasantly, 'Good morning, and welcome to Wal-Mart. Nice children you have there. Are they twins?'

The ugly, nasty woman stopped yelling long enough to say, 'Hell no, they ain't twins. The oldest one's 9, and the other one's 7. Why the hell would you think they're twins? Are you blind, or just stupid?'

So I replied, 'I'm neither blind nor stupid, Ma'am. I just find it hard to believe you got laid twice. Have a good day and thank you for shopping at Wal-Mart.'

My 25 year old supervisor said I probably wasn't cut out for this line of work........ soooo maybe I'll go fishing.

“You get a line, I get a pole.”
“We’ll go fishing in the crawdad hole.”

I can't wait for BR to start!!!!!

If this forum allowed us to give out reputation points, you would have gotten green for the above post.....

Thanks.....:D

Richard, I've always said that instead of having greeters....there should be screeners .

- "You can come in." :)
- "You go home. Bye bye, now....." ;)

Smilin' here. :D

People are funny..........not

Richard, I threw a Cadillac customer out of the dealership I worked at a few years ago because of his "I own a Cadillac" attitude. Cadillac sent me and the wife to Maui for a week for having the highest CSI (customer satisfaction index) in the Western Region of GM in spite of this guy's complaint.
Just cause they spend money doesn't mean they can look down their noses at the rest of us.

I wish I could

claim it as my own, but I can't in good conscience:D My brother-in law and I both work in the oil industry and he sent it to me. What a hoot.

Reminds me of something that happened in the grocery store one time.

I was in line behind this woman who was in line behind this older gentleman. She lays her purchases on the belt. She had a dozen eggs, a half gallon of orange juice, a loaf of wheat bread, and a tube of toothpaste. The old man watches as she unloads her cart.
When she has those four items on the register, he scans over them then looks at her and says "I bet you're single aren't ya?"

She looks at her stuff and looks back at the old man, bewildered at his intuitiveness. "Why yes, I am single. How did you know that?"

Old man "Cause you're ugly as hell"

Education

It could be a lack of HIGHER EDUCATION. It seems to me that I attended a few CLASSES (1 or 2)out back of the WOOD SHED when such attitudes arose in me when I was in my formative years. Thankfully my dad was an excellent teacher and I LEARNED QUICKLEY ;).... This person may not have had the same Quality of EDUCATION available to her at a time when she needed it :
