OK Yes I'm am truly the NEWBIE !!!!!!!!! How does one adjust the contact point angle on the test indicators. Any info will help thanks:)

Genreally,

The contact point, where it is fastned on, will move at that joint. Some of them have a clicking like feel and some are simply friction fit.

thank you:p good thing I have no pride:D Thanks again

If you want to really learn humility, go the the practical machinist web site. They are a tough crowd. That said, there are a lot of friendly and helpful folks there, but some have little patience with amateurs like you and me. I've had to grow some hard bark to survive on that site.

Practicalmachinist Forum is pretty good.

They aren't "quite" that bad. :D I grew up with many of them on the RecCraftsMetalworking newsgroup (Good Old RCM) for a decade or so. So I hang out there now and then. Quite a few of the names seen here show up on the gunsmithing forum there. Lots of good information available if one asks the right question.

I left RCM when the signal to noise ratio got beyond unbearable.
