Adjusting screws for set-tru chuck

Did a try fit of the adapter for my Bison set-tru chuck and it was a slip fit. I did notice that the four adjusting screws, while they are two pairs opposing, are not 90 degrees apart. Based on what I paid for the chuck and adapter, I'm assuming that it's supposed to be that way. Could someone do a "Set-Tru Chucks for Dummies" explanation for me?

Not All Are

We had this very discussion a whileback, and it seems some brands have the adjusting screws directly opposite, and some are kinda offset.

I guess the reason for the offset is to clear some part of the mechanism inside the chuck.

Both my 6-jaw and 4-jaw have the screws dead opposite..........jackie

My Bison Set-Tru has the screws set in really weird angles. Not 90 degrees.

I don't use the set screws, I through bolted the chuck and use a few Belvue Washers under the bolt heads. Loosen up a half turn and tap the chuck into alignment with a little lead hammer........Tap-Tap-Tap........Tighten the bolts...done

I can center a piece in about ten seconds.........Works great!

think i should go read bison or some other site for set tru type chucks.

cause i was confused when i got mine, have not heard from the seller.
jackie hit it, but i would like to see some specs.

thru bolts are not tight, firm but loose enought to allow the adjusters to center the work pc.

would love to know what the torque on my 6 6mm bolts are suppose to be.

gone searching......
