JB Weld works as good as anything. That is what I use, and I have never had a Rifle's Action come loose.

To re-glue it, you can just "rough up" the existing bedding, wipe it, and the bottom of the action, clean with some electrical contact cleaner, then just re-glue it with the JB.

The good thing about these products is they are available at any hardware or auto parts store.........jackie

I'd also recommend JB Weld, but to add to what Jackie said, avoid the new JB Kwik Weld. It sets up in minutes and is a whole different product from the original.

I too use the JB Weld that you get at the auto parts store. I get the big tubes, cheaper that way. I also carry in my load box one of those double tubes of clear quick set stuff, just in case an action comes loose during a match. It sets firm in less tha 5 minutes. It just might get you out of trouble during a match. And like Jerry W said.....don't get the JB Kwik set. Not for action glueing.

Glue in an Action

HI Lads.
I am building a .22 RF Hall action Mcmillan stock Bedded with Devcon what is the best to Glue it in,Also if I want to remove it how can I ,Is there a releasing agent,??

Doing a bit more Reading on the web.Seems most people use JB weld and when they want to remove the heat up with an old Clothes IRON,Will this release it, I was looking on the JB web site and this what it said can withstand temps of 500deg F,Will it come out easy with out damaging the stock .

(Like metal, J-B WELD can be formed, drilled, ground, tapped, machined, filled, sanded, and painted. It stays pliable for about 30 minutes after mixing, sets in 4-6 hours, and cures fully in 15-24 hours. It's water-proof; petroleum-, chemical-, and acid-resistant; resists shock, vibration, and extreme temperature fluctuations, and withstands temperatures up to 500° F. J-B WELD is super strong, non-toxic, and safe to use. Before it sets, you can clean up with soap and water)
