A few months ago I bought a Vintage 37 off Gunbroker. The rifle is in superb condition. I then began the search for a vintage scope for it. A couple of weeks later A friend showed up at a match with a vintage Redfield for sale. I bought it and found that It needed to sit back about an inch more than the mounts would allow.
A close friend found a site which offered vintage mounting blocks. I emailed them and they said thay had a block that was set back 1" and shoud be perfect for my needs.
I received the block today and sure enough, it does allow the scope to be slid back to the proper eye position. PM me if you are interested to know more about the vendor.
