A Feel-Good Story

Runnin' Along
My wife and I took a neighbor to the cemetery today to “see” her dad, a Marine who was killed on Okinawa on May 10, 1945. She was six when he was killed and hasn’t been to the cemetery in years and years and years. She was excited about “going to see her daddy.”

Memories are precious.

That was a very nice thing for you and your wife to do. So many sacrificed their lives and their families sacrificed as well. I can't imagine growing up without my Dad since age 6.

In honor of those for whom today is named, I did a repeat of post # 1 above. We had to dig the grass and dried mud from her dad's headstone, but it was worth getting our hands dirty -- she was pleased.

I am always grateful to the soldiers who sacrificed their lives in exchange for peace for their loved ones and their families as well as the people of their country.
