I recently came across 6 8lb jugs of this all sealed never opened. I am Looking to sell it all and understand now that this is something BR guys are interested in. Five are still in the stapled cardboard boxes. I opened one box to see the label.
I am asking for your comments as to value and shipping of this powder.
All response will be welcome. I reside in N California.

you are correct this is a good pull down powder, you can start at 29 grains and go up or down from there.

8208 pulldown powder

You can probably ship it FedEX or UPS
48 pounds will probably ship on one hazmat charge plus shipping. It must be labeled with the new hazmat labels
fedex will help along with UPS Hazmat handleing is I believe $27.50 for up 50 LBs plus shipping.

The orange label and the lot #, that powder is from GI Brass in Kentucky from Jeff Bartlett. Lots 18165, 18166, and 18167 have all shot well. I've seen and shot many jugs of 18165 and 18167. For some reason there hasn't been much 18166 that has shown up.

Save the 8208XBR, at least most lots of it, for your 6 BR. There is one lot, I think the first, that was fast enough for the PPC. The others are almost as slow as 4895 or Varget and suitable for larger volume cases and heavier bullets.

I shoot 30.5 grains of 8208 XBR in my 6 BR behind the Berger 87 grain Hunting VLD and the Berger 90 gr BT. Very nice for the 300 yard varmint game.

For the PPC, skip the XBR and get LT-32. It's very nice. It's what 8208 XBR tried to be.

I appreciate the advice. I've heard the same from others on the IMR. It has done well in my 6 BR with a 105 grain Berger but probably is too slow for the PPC. I was fortunate enough to find a few jugs of LT so I'm going to start with that when I finish mine. The build has been slow but we're making progress on the action:

The jug I chronometer was slower than IMR8208XBR.

(Later I did a quick lookup)

29 grains V133/07=3340 fps
29g AAC122910=3210 fps
29g IMR8208XBR lot 2=3260 fps
29g T32=3420 fps
29g 8208/18167=3320fps

All on Oehler 135 chrono at about 12'

Jerry....8208 pull down lots # 12010 and 18118. Same source(GI Brass,Jeff Barlett,Ky). have you had any experience with these two?

xbr worked well for me in my ppc in the winter months. larry Scharnhorst kicked our butts more than once in st Louis shooting xbr in his ppc. lee
