6mm Dasher Barrel Twist

I am slowly assembling parts to build a 6 dasher ( 30" barrel) with the intention of using 105-107 bullets ( Berger Hybrids or SMK). Berger site recommends a 7 twist for the 105 hybrids and SMK seems to call for a 8 twist.

Recommendations?

7.5 twist as a happy medium?

Thanks Gregg

I personally would skip the 105 Hybrid and use either the 105 VLD or 108 BT with an 8 tw barrel. Custom bullets like the 103 Vapor Trail fly great from an 8 tw barrel. Good luck.

I'm using Berger 105gn VLDs in my 6mm Dasher with a 1 in 8 twist 30 inch barrel for 1000 yd benchrest.

If it is not chambered yet, you should look at the
6mm BRA.
Easier to form brass( ackley improved).
Seems to have a good following.
Same family of bullets, same bbl. less case work.

I would go with 7.75 to 1, but 8 will work. Also just go with 28" It shoots and balances better than 30 and you don't loose that much velocity around 7 fps. per inch........ jim
