how does this round compare to the 6 mm br family of cartriges?how might i get in touch with jerry masker?i think he is seely`s son.

Dear GN....the ctg you are asking about was necessatited by the unavailability of SAKO .220 Russian brass during the 80's (322 dried up at the same time) and Seley (sp) got the idea to try to duplicate ppc case capacity with something commonly available at the the time,,,.225 win. was very close....the rims were turned down and body taper and shoulder angle changed.....besides that nuthin changed.....it shot just like a ppc.....Roger
PS....he called it the 6mm SM (Seeley Masker) Wasp
 
Some more info on the 6 SM Wasp. It was primarily a necked up 219 Donaldson Wasp which commanded the BR sport for some time. The 6 SM Wasp and the 219 Wasp had a 30 degree shoulder which was the major difference between them and the 225 Winchester. The parent case for both was the 225 Winchester. Cases can be made from the 225 Win or the 30-30 Win (or the 30 American if you just happen to have some-if not contact Dave Tooley). The info above is from an magazine article written by Seeley Masker in 1988.
 
The shortage of Sako 220 russian cases caused lots of wildcats. I made one in the same timeframe that Seely was
developing his, and strangely as not its very similiar. Using Federal 30 american brass, my case holds .5 more H20 than
the PPC. It shoots anything common to the ppc at same VEL. and is very accurate. In that area in time, Jim Stekl was
shooting one in a shorter version maybe equal to a waldog in 22. I still have one of his cases, a special run at big green.
